Whonix 16.1.1.5: Whonix (formerly known as TorBOX or AOS) is a universal operating system based on Virtual Box, Debian GNU / Linux and Tor.
The most interesting feature of course is that with this operating system you are completely anonymous when you go out on the internet.
Let's see how. You should download it VirtualBox for “Windows Hosts” and the file OVA for Whonix. Having the necessary files you can proceed with its installation VirtualBox. So you will have an anonymous OS inside the OS you use every day.
Below are also the images of the distro for those interested in trying it out on their system.
The design of Whonix does not allow leaks of the IP and DNS you use. Not even with malware that has root (administrator) rights can someone learn the real thing location of the user.
This is because Whonix consists of two (virtual) machines. A machine only runs Tor and acts as a gateway, which the system calls Whonnix-Gateway.
The other machine, referred to as Whonix-Workstation, it is one completely isolated network which only lets connections through Tor pass.
