Whonix 17.0.3.0: Whonix (previously called TorBOX or AOS) is an operating system general purpose based on Virtual Box, the Debian GNU/Linux and Tor.
The most interesting feature of course is that with this operating system you are completely anonymous when you go out on the internet.
Let's see how. You should download it VirtualBox for “Windows Hosts” and the file OVA for Whonix. Having the necessary files you can proceed with it installation of VirtualBox. So you will have an anonymous OS inside the OS you use every day.
Below are also the images of the distro for those interested in trying it out on their system.
The design of Whonix does not allow leaks of the IP and DNS you use. Not even me malware who has root (administrator) rights can find out the real location of the user.
This is because Whonix consists of two (virtual) machines. A machine only runs Tor and acts as a gateway, which the system calls Whonnix-Gateway.
The other machine, which is referred to as Whonix-Workstation, is one completely isolated network that only lets connections through Tor.
