Windows 10 19H2 two new builds in the Slow Ring

Microsoft released two more of Windows 10 19H2 for Insiders following the Slow Ring.

The first build of 19H2, has some functions disabled by default, while the other has them enabled by default. Insiders who see the new features will have some new, business-focused ones. These features are quite interesting.

Windows 10 19H2

But why is Microsoft releasing duplicate builds? Company executives said that when Windows 10 19H2 is released this fall, Microsoft plans to release it with the new features disabled by default. Microsoft employees, of course, will be able to enable these features.

So to make sure this strategy works as planned, Microsoft seems to be testing the new mechanism in advance.

Insiders already on 19H2 Build 18362.10012 will install the new build (1362.10014) with the features disabled by default. Those who have 19H2 Build 18362.10013 will install Build 18362.10015 with the new features enabled by default.

Those who can now see the new features in this build will see:

A new feature to extend Windows 10 policy from S Mode to allow traditional Win32 applications.

Windows Credential Guard for ARM64 devices will be enabled to provide those using ARM64 devices with anti-theft authentication.

The updated in “Exploration ” may show “suggestions from the web” in addition to files that exist locally on the computer.

More information and details can be found at Microsoft publication for build 19H2.

Reminder: Microsoft is simultaneously testing Windows 10 19H2 and 20H1 feature updates with different Insider groups.

Windows 10 19H2 is expected to be released this fall, and it's going to be a small one with new features disabled by default. Windows 10 20H1, which is expected to be released around April 2020, will be more than just a “major” feature update.
