In systems Windows 10 with version 2004 or 20H2 there is a DumpStack.log.tmp file, which slows down the computer.
You will find the file in the path C: \ "DumpStack.log.tmp".
What does the DumpStack.log.tmp file do?
The file first appeared in Windows 8. It is used when Windows needs to write a dump. Is secret system file in the root of the C:\ drive or drive where Windows is installed. You can read about dump stacking from here and from here.
The file cannot be deleted by default because it is under the control of the operating system. However, the connection to the file can be disabled from the registry. To do this, follow the path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl
You should open the registry editor with administrator rights (search for regedit / right click on the icon – run as administrator). There are two 32-bit DWORD values:
EnableLogFile = 00000001
LogLevel = fffffffd
If the EnableLogFile 32-bit DWORD value is set to 0 and you restart Windows 10, logging to the file will stop. Then you can delete the DumpStack.log.tmp file.
