Windows 10: How to upgrade again for free

Microsoft has finally stopped offering free upgrades from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 after a while. Officially at least…

The "gap" that allowed upgrades to earlier systems in Windows 10 stopped working from 17 January at noon, while in the morning the free upgrade page still had download links.

However, there seems to be another method of activating Windows 10 for free from older systems.Windows 10
Although you can no longer use the Get Windows 10 tool to perform an upgrade from Windows 7, 8, or 8.1, downloading the Windows 10 ISO can be done directly from the Microsoft official site.

After you install the operating system, you can provide a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 key and it will be activated without any problems. This method was tested by HTG on 5 January 2018 and continues to work.

Windows communicates with Microsoft activation servers and will confirm that the key of the previous version of Windows is real. If the key is legal, Window 10 will be installed and turned on without any problems on your computer.

Your computer gets a "digital license" so you can continue to use and reinstall Windows 10 on this system, even in the event of a format.

Microsoft has not announced what is happening here or will block this method sometime in the future.

But at this time it still works.

Of course, even if Microsoft blocks this method in the future, your computer will retain its digital license and Windows 10 will remain enabled.
