Ever since Windows 10 was released, it has been known that the new operating system spies on its owners.
A new report from BetaNews shows that the company is collecting data even when the settings telemetryare disabled. This means that information leaves your computer even if you don't allow it.
How did they discover data leakage?
On a computer running Linux Mint they installed a Windows 10 virtual machine. Using a DD-WRT router they were able to record Internet traffic.
Although the telemetry settings in Windows 10 have been turned off, the result will leave you surprised!
Throughout the recording (8 hours), the router was linked together 5.508 times with third-party servers, of which 3.967 times were attempts to connect to 51 different Microsoft IP addresses.
We should mention that this report, although it presents very large numbers, cannot be correct. This number may well include the connections που πραγματοποίησε το λειτουργικό σύστημα για να ελέγξει για updates, or simply to set the time automatically.
However, however, the number of 3.967 connections within 8 hours is impressive, although nothing indicates that there have been violations of privacy.
