To celebrate 15's existence of VLC, VideoLAN has announced the release and immediate availability of VLC Media Player 2.2.2 for all supported platforms, GNU / Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.
VLC Media Player 2.2.2 is a major upgrade that fixes many of the annoying issues mentioned in the previous version, VLC Media Player 2.2.1, and also adds some much needed enhancements, such as support for Apple MacOS X El Capitan.
VLC Media Player 2.2.2 adds support to 9-bit and 10-bit GBR planar formats, supports GoToMeeting 2 and GoToMeeting 3 codecs as it improves the addons manager and playlist dialog box.
In addition to the above, it improves the time of resume dialog, preferences, and Lua extensions.
