It seems Microsoft is preparing to release Windows 10 Pro for Workstations soon, another new version of Windows 10.
"We know that power users have unique needs, and to be able to operate effectively we take the feedback we hear very seriously," said the director of the Microsoft division Partners Program Manager, Klaus Diaconu, in a post on blog of the company on 10 August.
Windows 10 Pro for Workstations will have “unique support for hardware server quality,” according to Microsoft, “and are designed to meet the demanding needs of mission-critical and compute-intensive work".
This new version, which will be available with upcoming Windows 10 Creators Fall Update (1703) to be released in September will include ReFS file system, permanent memory, faster file sharing using SMB Direct, and support for new hardware configurations, including Intel Xeon processors or AMD Opteron processors with up to four CPU and memory up to 6 terabytes. Today, Windows 10 is limited to two CPU configurations and memory up to 2 TB.
Microsoft's transparency (embedded below) invokes the existence of the new version of Workstation.
The original Microsoft Windows 10 series included three versions for IoT devices and six other versions of Windows 10: Home, Mobile, Pro, Enterprise, Educations and Mobile Enterprise. Then Microsoft added Windows 10 S.
There are also two more subscriptions of Window's 10 for Business, Window 10 Enterprise E3 and E5.
