The upcoming upgrade of Windows 10 Redstone 4 will bring significant improvements to the system, and Microsoft promises that the installation will take only 30 minutes.
The development team achieved the fastest installation by reducing the time the installer is connected to the internet, as they were able to move most of the processes after the system reboot to online stage.
In other words, most of the installation process of the upcoming system will be completed before the system reboots, and everything will happen in the background, so the machine will take less time offline.
However, according to the company, this will not apply to all systems. Redstone 4 can be installed in 30 minutes only on compatible hardware systems. For everything else, you'll need to connect online to complete the installation.
Η μείωση του χρόνου εγκατάστασης είναι ένα project με το οποίο η Microsoft άρχισε να ασχολείται πριν από την ανάπτυξη του Fall Creators Update. In this particular update the time after restart was reduced to 38% and in total reached 51 minutes.
With further optimizations at Redstone 4, the average time will reach 30 minutes, 63% faster than the previous version.
"Because of these changes, the online phase of updating the operating system will take longer to complete.
However, this will not be noticeable to most users of the operating system as the installation processes work with low priority. So they won't have a big impact on battery life or system performance," he says Microsoft on the insiders blog.
The Windows 10 Redstone 4 update is expected to be released in April.
