The era of Windows as a service has arrived… It's July 19 which means that the free upgrade offer on Windows 10 ends in 10 days. What does this mean for the end user?
We live in the age of subscription services if you haven't figured it out... Subscription TV, subscription steaming, software με συνδρομή (βλέπε Adobe PhotoShop). Οι προγραμματιστές αρχίζουν να κινούνται βάσει συνδρομής στις markets, where the idea is that by paying a subscription, all future major upgrades will be free.
Microsoft should begin implementing the subscription subscription model in Windows 10. Fortunately (according to the company) this will not affect the home user as the subscription model will only be addressed to large companies.
Starting this fall, Microsoft is expected to release Windows 10 Enterprise E3 για τις επιχειρήσεις που είναι βασικά μια version of Windows 10 that will come without licensing costs (one-time), which means that it will be based on the subscription model.
Instead Microsoft will allow businesses to pay $7 a month to use it platform.
However, it should be noted that this cost is a cost per job…. Do not imagine that with $ 7 a month all your employees will be able to work legally ..
According to Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft's corporate vice president of Windows:
"For the price of a coffee and a donut a day, you will be able to get enterprise-class insurance on a subscription basis per user."
Mr. Mehdi did not say what to do with home users who will upgrade after 29 July ending the free upgrade offer, and probably will follow a subsequent announcement after the expiration.
As we have mentioned many times in iGuRu.gr, we expect a new "offer" or extension of the existing one.
We'll see…
