Microsoft has long since confirmed that Windows 11 will never be released and that the company will continue to update Windows 10 with new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
"We are currently releasing Windows 10 and because Windows 10 is the latest version of Windows, we will continue to work on Windows 10," Microsoft developer Jerry Nixon told Ignite 2015.
In addition, Microsoft will continue to develop new versions of Windows 10, such as Windows to ARM, and will release Windows 10X next year, a new version of the operating system designed for foldable devices as well as single-screen devices.
Microsoft has decided to release a major update and a minor update in 2020.

In a recently edited blog post, Microsoft mistakenly confirmed that the Windows Insider team will see Windows 10 21H1 "Iron" as a preview build in the second half of June.
In October 2019, Microsoft announced the Windows 10X for dual-screen devices, such as the Surface Neo, which is expected to be released in December 2020.
However, Microsoft recently revealed that the release of the Surface Neo has been postponed and that the Windows 10X are now targeting single-screen computers as well.
In a blog post written by Windows and Devices CEO Panos Panay, he revealed that Microsoft developers are shifting their focus to Windows 10X in an effort to meet current customer demand.

Microsoft is also working on a new context menu that will offer more shortcuts, such as a new option to navigate, access in tabs and various others.
The company is also preparing to launch a new modern File Explorer with its stylish icons Fluent Design.
This new UI will add many features, such as a better connection to OneDrive and Google Drive.
