Until today only its users Windows 10 Professional could stop updates while they were on development on Windows Update,
This feature will be released for everyone in the next major update to Windows 10 that we know as 19H1. The upcoming big version will be released sometime in April 2019.
Paul Thurrott he remarked for the first time this change and it is something that Microsoft has not yet announced in their blog posts Windows Insider.
Of course, there is a limit: You can only pause updates for seven days at a time. To do this, you just need to follow the path Settings - Update and Security - Windows Update.
There will be an option "Pause Updates for 7 days" or "Pause Updates for 7 days" in Windows 10 Home.
Windows 10 will not be able to install updates that are paused. However, when you resume updates (if the seven-day period expires or if you click on the “Resume updates” button) Windows will check for updates and install them.
Of course, the feature will not help you permanently avoid updates, but for seven days at a time. Then you will need to update your system.
But as we do, it is a huge improvement because if you are on a journey or busy with something, you will be able to update it after a week.
Windows 10 Professional users still have more control since they can pause updates for up to 35 days.
