Microsoft will release smaller-sized updates in Windows 10. This translates to smaller downloads and of course a significant bandwidth savings.
Until today, Windows 10 ISO downloads were around 4,8GB because Microsoft included the x64 and x86 versions in a single file. So the company will allocate ISO installations for x64-bit systems only which is approximately 2.6GB in size, saving businesses approximately 2,2GB from the previous download file size.
These smaller ISO will only exist for the x64 files and will be available from 27 Σεπτεμβρίου for companies that update their systems in Windows 10, 1703, 1709 and 1803. As soon as the October release is released, there will be the smallest ISO for the x64 bit version.
Let's mention, if you did not understand the above, that smaller files will only be available to businesses,
The updates will be available for those using Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or for those connecting to it System Center Configuration Managers and will be released as Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) files through WSUS.
However, the smaller Windows 10 update packages will only contain the original version of Windows 10, which means they do not have the cumulative updates that were released by RTM onwards.
This means that administrators will need to separately install the latest cumulative update to update their systems.
