Microsoft will begin rolling out the Moment 4 update to all Windows 11 users via Patch Tuesday next month.
This means you won't have to wait too long. But for those who can't wait, Microsoft has released a cumulative update preview of Windows 11 in Version 22H2 (KB5031455), giving early access to Moment 4 features even to non-Insiders.
Microsoft introduced the Windows 11 Moment 4 as an optional update for select users last month. What changes this month is that the optional update is now available to more people. Interestingly, it is also available to those who have not enabled the “Get the latest updates as soon as they are available” setting. So, it seems like the company isn't following any specific pattern when it comes to who will get Moment 4 features with the KB5031455 update.
Windows 11 update KB5031455 moves the operating system version to 22621.2506 while also adding new features.
But remember, this is a preview update, and you may experience some glitches.
It's also worth mentioning that while Copilot is part of the Moment 4 release, you might not see it right away after installing the update, as Microsoft will expand its availability over time.
Windows 11 Moment 4 features several new features, including Copilot, “never combined” mode on the taskbar, a revamped File Explorer, a new backup app, a new settings homepage, and Dynamic Lighting. In addition to these new features, there are also some quality improvements with this update.
To check you can download the update, open the Settings app by pressing Win + I on your keyboard, go to Windows Update and click Check for updates.
You can also download and install update KB5031455 manually from Microsoft Update Catalog website.
You will need to restart your computer to complete the installation.
