As we mentioned in previous publication, there is a way to enable Extended Security Updates on all systems running the OS system Windows 7 by Microsoft.
Support for Microsoft Windows 7 has stopped January of 2020, but the businesses they can extend support for up to three years, depending on how much they pay.
Small businesses will have to pay Microsoft up to 200 dollars per device per year for extended support, while large businesses up to 200 dollars per user per year. Extensive support is already available and there are certain conditions that must be met.
Microsoft does not offer Extended Security Updates to Home Edition users, although some would pay the company to extend support for Windows 7.
Windows 7 users participating in Extended Security Updates must install an update that verifies they are eligible for new updates after January 14, 2020. Extended security updates can be downloaded online but cannot be installed offline , at least not at the moment.
But users on the My Digital Life forum have discovered a way to bypass the control of Extended Security Updates. The bypass works with the trial update released by Microsoft, and we do not know if it will work with the actual updates that the company will release after Patch Day January 2020.
Let's see how you can get the updates:
- Bypass installation. Download the latest version from Gitlab. The code to open the file is 2020.
- Installation of the ESU Test update KB4528069.
- Restart
- Install updates: KB4538483, KB4537820, KB4537767and KB4537813.
- Restart
There is another way than Deskmodder :
- Installation of bypass and ESU Test update.
- Remove the bypass.
- Install SSU KB4537829 and immediately after installation of KB4537820 update.
Note that the above two modes work so far and will work until Microsoft takes action.
