The Windows Store is a new way to install software in Windows 8 and above. It allows you to install and update modern Apps with 1 clicks. By default, the Windows Store is set to update apps automatically. New functional system caches some details about installed and available applications to speed up its process browsing them as well as improving the responsiveness of the app store.
However, sometimes the app store fails to update apps or may also not be able to install new ones. If the Windows Store does not work on your computer then you may need to reset (delete) the cache it uses.
It is very easy to restore the Store cache. Windows 8 comes with an integrated tool, wsreset.exe. Just run it and you're ready.
Press the Win + R keys on your keyboard to open a Run window.
Type the following in the Run box:
wsreset
Press Enter.
The WSreset tool will clear the Store cache. The process may take a few minutes. After that, the Windows Store will open again and you will be able to update or install applications.
