Chief Executive Officer WordPress.com that powers 25 percent of the world's websites announced the open sourcing of the company's code and API endpoints.
Matt Mullenweg, CEO of WordPress.com announced the news on his blog describing it project, codenamed Calypso. This particular project is the product of 20 months of work by 127 technicians and designers.
Unveiling the new, clean JavaScript platform που uses libraries like Node and React to deliver a whole new web browsing experience, Mullenweg admitted was the missing key to WordPress now being able to "outdo itself."
