If you've ever wondered how much time YouTube users spend watching videos, you should know that the number has now reached 1.000.000.000 hours every day. Yes one billion hours a day.
It's an extremely high number, but we expected it to happen. In 2015, YouTube announced that it exceeded 500.000.000 hours per day, while at the end of 2014 it had reached 300 millions hours.
In fact, the landmark number has not been done in the last few days, but sometime at the end of last year.
"Let's put it in perspective. If you were to sit down and watch a billion hours of YouTube, it would take you over 100.000 years. 100.000 years ago, our ancestors were making stone tools and began their migration from Africa, while mammoths and mastodons roamed the Earth. If we used 100.000 years in one taxiat the speed of light, we could travel from one end of the Galaxy to the other (without aging)” reports a blog post YuuTube on the subject.
Its publication serviceGoogle's, puts more emphasis not so much on the milestone number, but on the variety of videos played every day by people around the world, depending on their interests, moods, and needs.
