According to a Venture Beat publication, YouTube is working on a project known internally as Backstage. Backstage will essentially turn YouTube into a social one network since it will allow users to post text, videos and polls on their channel's personal page.

This could also encourage content creators not to give up service. With Facebook as a competitor, YouTube with Backstage is definitely a way to keep its users.
If the idea becomes a reality, it is very likely that we will see Backstage from autumn on desktop and laptop computers.
