Late but it came: YouTube has finally added support for live streaming on mobile apps. In this way, content creators can stream video directly from their phones.
The fact that the world's largest video platform took so long to bring this feature is quite surprising, as the idea has been around since meerkat last year and was subsequently adopted by Twitter's Periscope and recently joined Facebook Live.
Of course a battle between the three companies, helps end-users.
From screenshots that were published, the new feature looks set to offer the same user experience as the application of YouTube and will be similar to Periscope, with inbound chat messages from viewers and the ability to restrict viewing to private groups if necessary.
Live streaming for mobile Appliances will be released to all users soon.
