Fraudsters are based on extremely attractive incentives
Fraudsters have organized a new Facebook scam with hundreds of dollars of counterfeit vouchers allegedly coming from reputable retailers such as Nike, Macy and Target.
This is not the typical online survey fraud, but the steps the potential victim has to follow is the same as the result of fraud: to make the unsuspecting user complete the surveys and thus make money cheaters.
A simple way to make money
The website that hosts these fake offers is webcoupons [.] Pw. There is currently a campaign running that offers a $200 gift certificate to victims in exchange for leaving a good comment on the offer and liking and sharing it on Facebook. Worth noting is that the scammy page announces date deadline to apply for the coupon was November 27, 2014. OnlineThreatAlerts (OTA) reported that the same page last week was promoting fake coupons from Nike and Macy's worth $240 and $200, respectively.
And in this case the scammers used the same trick. OTA states that one of the purposes of creating this type of pages is to increase their traffic so that they can be sold for a larger amount of money.
