Microsoft's victory comes as DoD continues to evaluate the bids submitted by companies for a $ 10 billion dollar contract, also known as JEDI or Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure. The Pentagon should select only one company in the first quarter of 2019.

The GAO ruled that the Pentagon legally had the right to concede the contract to a vendor because it considers a basis of interest.
IBM has also criticized the "winner gets it all" method of the JEDI contract.
