Google has just released Chrome 81 on all supported platforms: Windows, Linux and Mac. THE new edition is 81.0.4044.92 and includes several notable improvements, such as Web NFC API support, which means web applications can finally use built-in NFC.
In other words, if your device is connected to an NFC, web applications can use it through Google Chrome, either for data transfer or other functions.
Google reports that fixed a total of 32 gaps security with this version, and once again donated thousands of dollars to investigators who reported the bugs.
There are three security vulnerabilities that have been identified as critical: two use after free (one at extensions and another in audio) and an out of bounds read bug in WebSQL.
Let's mention that Chrome 81 is the first update released on duration of pandemic, and the company has stated that it will completely skip version 82.
Google he said Chrome 83 will be released soon, and the new version will be released in mid-May, two weeks earlier than originally scheduled.
