Google just released it Chrome 81 on all supported platforms: Windows, Linux and Mac. The new version is 81.0.4044.92 and includes several notable improvements, such as support for the Web NFC API, which means that web applications can finally use built-in NFC.
In other words, if your device is connected to an NFC, web apps can use it through Google Chrome, either for transport data or for other functions.
Google reports that repaired a total of 32 security gaps with this version, and once again allocated thousands of dollars to the researchers who reported the errors.
There are three security vulnerabilities that have been identified as critical: two use after free (one in extensions and another in sound) and an out of bounds read bug in WebSQL.
Note that Chrome 81 is the first update to be released during it pandemic, and the company has stated that it will completely skip version 82.
Google he said Chrome 83 will be released soon, and the new version will be released in mid-May, two weeks earlier than originally scheduled.
