Google released Chrome 84 Stable, the latest version of the Google Chrome browser, to the public on July 14, 2020. The new version is a information security, but it also brings other changes and improvements to the browser.
Those who want to install it immediately can do so from the menu - Help - About Google Chrome. The new version will need to be downloaded and installed automatically. Chrome will then need to be restarted to complete the update to the new version.
Η announcement Google's official Chrome Release blog is as usual vague as the updates are about security holes. The company says that the update includes 38 security fixes and that at least one of them fixes a critical vulnerability in older versions of the browser (heap buffer Overflow buffer , CVE-2020-6510).
Google continues the gradual release of SameSite, which was initially released with Chrome 80, but suspended the release a little later.
SameSite restricts access to cookie of the default browser. Google Chrome 84 will be the first version of Chrome to stop notifications from sites that abuse the feature.
Google removed the older TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols in Chrome 84 and plans toslowcompletely shut her up support in some future version. Currently, both protocols are still supported.
Chrome 84 will alert users if they try to download something from an unsafe environment.
The next stable release of Google Chrome is scheduled for August 25, 2020.
