Following his announcement last month, the Facebook started making the 360-degree photo support feature available to the public. Once the feature is rolled out to you, you'll be able to upload 360-degree images just like you do regular photos.
Facebook says you can simply upload panoramic photos from your phone - or take a photo with a proper 360-degree fit or a camera (like the Ricoh Theta S) and then upload it like you would any other image .
The images will appear as 360 cartoons in your friends' feed, to show that anyone who wants can play with them.
It is unknown at this time what he meant by "panoramic." It means photos that we can see from all angles, or it will just allow a partial view.
The company says you'll be able to watch 360 photos with VR devices as well. If you have, say, a Samsung smartphone and a device Gear VR, you can tap “View in VR” from the top left corner to view the image in 360 degrees.
The new feature is not currently supported by Google cardboard, which is a much more affordable device, but let's hope it's just a matter of time.
