International Conference Achieving Impact on the Impact of Research on Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities

Διεθνές Συνέδριο για τον αντίκτυπο της έρευνας στις Κοινωνικο-οικονομικές και Ανθρωπιστικές Επιστήμες, σε τομείς όπως υγεία, εκπαίδευση, απασχόληση, πολιτισμός και δημιουργικότητα, θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 26-27 Φεβρουαρίου 2014 στην Αθήνα (Εθνικό Ίδρυμα Ερευνών, Βασ. Κωνσταντίνου 48). Το Συνέδριο “Achieving Impact: Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in 2020", which will also present funding opportunities in the EU's Horizon 2020 program for Research and Innovation, is organized by the National Documentation Center (EKT) and the NET4SOCIETY European network of National Contact Points for Socio-Economics and Humanities .

The conference is of particular interest to members of the academic and research community of Socio-Economics and Humanities, and in particular to those seeking to better understand the funding opportunities under Europe in a Changing World - Receptive, Innovative and Thoughtful Societies ”(Europe in a changing world: inclusive, innovative and reflective Societies) of Horizon 2020.

The conference will be attended by representatives of the European Commission, experts, representatives of the academic and business community, researchers, project coordinators, National Agents and National Contact Points of the program from all over Europe.

During the International Conference, on 26 February 2014, keynote speakers from and abroad will discuss the importance of research impact in Socioeconomics and Humanities and the importance of disseminating research results. It will be followed by a presentation of good practices (case studies) in 3 thematic sections: Creativity and Culture, The European Social Model, Social Innovation (Making sense of Social Innovation!).

An information day and research collaboration event will take place on 27 February 2014, where participants will have the opportunity to be briefed by EU representatives and experienced researchers and evaluators on the new project "Europe in a Changing World - Multifaceted, Innovative" and Stochastic Societies ”. During the bilateral meetings they will be able to explore opportunities for participation in existing networks, but also for the formation of new research collaborations and projects.

Europe faces a series of social, economic and political challenges related to economic growth, employment, global balance, the skepticism of European citizens, especially young people, etc. This program includes actions to strengthen Europe's capacity to cope with the difficulties affecting its development. These include: understanding social changes in Europe and their impact on social cohesion, developing innovative societies and policies in Europe by encouraging the participation of citizens, businesses and actors, understanding of the cultural heritage and the cultural heritage. European identity.

NET4SOCIETY European Network

The European NET4SOCIETY Network (http://www.net4society.eu) informs and supports Socio-Economic and Human Scientists researchers on funding opportunities , open calls, as well as possibilities for cooperation with organizations from all over Europe. In addition, it provides information on the research results and the experiences of researchers from their successful participation in the program. The National Contact Point in Greece is the National Documentation Center (ESF).

Horizon 2020 is the European Union's program for financing research and innovation actions for the seven years 2014-2020. The structure of Horizon 2020 is based on the threefold: "Scientific excellence", "Industrial excellence", "Social challenges", ie mobilizing scientific research behind the challenges facing the EU, such as population aging, exhaustion energy resources, tackling climate change, and translating scientific knowledge into applied solutions to citizens' day-to-day problems.

The EKT National Contact Point for the 2020 Horizon

The ECB supports the Greek academic, research and business community as a National Contact Point for its participation in the "Horizon 2020" program (www.ekt.gr/horizon2020). Covering all stages of research projects, from proposal preparation to implementation and utilization of research results, the of the ECB include: Information and Advisory Services, Operation of a Support Office, Development and Distribution of information material, Organization of events and seminars, Finding partners for the formation of consortia and joint submission of proposals.

As a National Contact Point, EKT is not limited to information and support actions only, but contributes with Special Reports (Intelligent ) on the performance of Greek researchers, geographical and thematic areas of excellence.
