The three vendors who have been sued are Michael Abbara from California, Kurt Bauer from Pennsylvania, and a Chinese company, CCBetter Direct. OR Amazon claims that fake comments accounted for 30-45% of total customer ratings.

An Amazon spokeswoman said: "Our goal is to eliminate the incentive to misuse false comments. "The vast majority of Amazon ratings are authentic, helping millions of customers make informed purchasing decisions every day."

Since the beginning of 2015, Amazon has closed over 1.000 για δημοσίευση ψευδών κριτικών με σκοπό να προσελκύσουν πελάτες, αλλά αυτή είναι η πρώτη φορά που δρουν νομικά. Οι τρεις πωλητές μηνύονται με την κατηγορία ότι δημιουργούσαν πλαστούς λογαριασμούς για να γράψουν ευνοϊκές κριτικές, νοθεύοντας τις of of purchase.

If Amazon wins the case against the defendants, the latter could be banned from the site and forced to give their profits to the company to pay attorneys' fees as well as over $25.000.

These consequences could be enough to convince other vendors not to distract and play with the company's rules and conditions.
