AMD has just announced its new Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors, which are also its first companys that will feature the next-generation Zen 3 architecture and represent the biggest leap for AMD's desktop chips to date.
AMD also has high expectations, promising that the new Ryzen 5900X series is nothing short of "the best gaming CPU in the world". The new processors will be available from $ 299 for the original Ryzen 5 5600X model on November 5.
Like last year's Zen 3000-based Ryzen 2 chips, the new 5000 series processors still use AMD's 7nm process, but offer a 19% increase in instructions per cycle, along with a complete redesign of layoutof chips for higher max speed push.
AMD starts with four new Zen 3 processors. There is a top model Ryzen 9 5950X with 16 cores, 32 threads and a maximum boost speed of 4,9GHz which costs $799. The Ryzen 9 5900X has 12 cores, 32 threads and a max boost speed of 4,8GHz (it costs $549 dollars). For $449 you can have the Ryzen 7 5800X, with eight cores, 16 threads and a max boost speed of 4,7GHz. At $299 there is the Ryzen 5 5600X, with six cores, 12 threads and a max boost speed of 4,6GHz.
