Anonymous launched #OpIcarus, an operation targeting the global banking system. Their first target was the Bank of Greece, with DDoS attacks that started yesterday and was the first to broadcast SecNews.gr
With Icarus (Op Icarus), Anonymous has scheduled DDoS attacks in four sections.
These include websites belonging to the American Federal Reserve Bank, the second section concerns IMF (International Monetary Fund) target pages, the third includes websites belonging to the World Bank, and the fourth includes 158 national banks. In the last section, there are banks from all over the world, even from underdeveloped ones countries.
The first bank to be hit by DDoS attacks was the Bank of Greece as we mentioned above, but the team seems to have higher goals.
“We must strike at the heart of their empire, …. the global financial system. This time our target is the New York Stock Exchange, and the Bank of England,” Anonymous says in the following video.
