BackBox Linux is a distribution based on the known Ubuntu operating system and used for security assessments and penetration testing.
Project developers have just released a new stable release, BackBox Linux 6. The new version upgrades key components of the distribution and fixes many bugs from the previous version.
"The BackBox team is pleased to announce the major new release of BackBox Linux, version 6. As usual, this major release includes many updates, such as a new kernel, updated tools, and some structural changes with an emphasis on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
What's new: updated Linux kernel 4.18, updated desktop environment, updated hacking tools, up-to-date hybrid ISO images with UEFI support
System requirements: processor on 32 or 64 bit, 1.024MB system memory (RAM) 10GB disk space for installation, 800 × 600 graphics card, DVD-ROM drive, or USB port (3GB).
