CentOS distribution is the Community proposal for an Enterprise distribution. CentOS 7 like any other version distribution is based entirely on the Red Hat Enterprise source code and is aimed at those interested in running a RedHat Enterprise compatible distribution but do not need the support provided by Red Hat.
The distribution is LTS, ie it is supported for many years, which makes it ideal for the environment server or for those who want a stable and reliable operating system.
So today Karanbir Singh announced the release of CentOS 7.3 1611. The new version is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 and offers several new features such as SHA2 support in OpenLDAP, Bluetooth LE and a preview technologys Btrfs.

Several packages have been updated. Some of these are: amba, squid, systemd, krb5, gcc-libraries, binutils, gfs-utils, libreoffice, gimp, SELinux, firewalld, libreswan, tomcat and open-vm-tools
