1. Right-click on a folder and select “Properties” from it . Alternatively, press and hold the ALT key and double-click the folder.
2. Go to the Customize tab. There you will see the group "Folder Images" where below it is the "Select File" button. Click this button.


3. Look for the image you want to use as a folder image. Your Windows opens an image file selection window that by default is the folder you want to change an icon. You can either pick an image through the folder itself or you can get any image of any part of your hard drive you want.
4. Once selected, click the "Open" button to confirm your selection and then press the "Apply" button to apply the change.
5. Re-read with File Explorer this folder to see your change.

To restore the default folder image open the Folder Properties again, go to the "Customize" tab and now select the "Restore Default" button.
