China forbids Windows 8 in the state

The latest operating of ( Windows 8 ) is banned on state computers, the Chinese government has mysteriously announced.

The Central Government Procurement Center announced its ban of Windows 8 in a circular it issued on the use of power-hungry devices, reports Reuters. According to the official Xinhua news agency, the ban is aimed at strengthening computer security after Microsoft's decision to discontinue support for Windows XP, which are widely used in China. Neither the government nor Xinhua clarified how the ban reduces consumption or enhances computer security.

China has always been a troubled market for Microsoft, which has protested 2011 that software piracy has made China's revenue smaller than in the Netherlands, even though computer sales fluctuated to US levels.
