Η service Citrix's GoToMyPC has issued a notice-warning to all of them users of, stating that it has been the target of a “highly sophisticated password attack.” The company advises all its users to change the passwords they have been using.
The statement was made on its website, and Citrix, which owns the remote login service, said that all users will have to reset their GoToMyPC service passwords before they can log in again. It urges all users to use control identity two factors.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration that this issue may cause," Citrix said.
The company has not been able to confirm the number of passwords that it believes are stolen or what other information hackers may have received, and according to the announcement it is still investigating the hack.
The hack on the GoToMyPC service came after the attack on TeamViewer, which offers a similar one product.
TeamViewer had said that its systems were not violated while there were reports from users complaining that their PCs had been attacked. So they discovered that various purchases had taken place through their PCs, from designer clothes to gift cards.
