Citrix's GoToMyPC service has issued an announcement-pronotice για όλους τους χρήστες της, δηλώνοντας ότι έχει γίνει στόχος μιας "πολύ εξελιγμένης επίθεσης κωδικών πρόσβασης." Η εταιρεία συμβουλεύει όλους τους χρήστες της να αλλάξουν τους κωδικούς πρόσβασης που χρησιμοποιούσαν.
The statement was made on its website, and Citrix, which owns the remote connection service, said that all users should reset their GoToMyPC passwords to be able to re-connect. It urges all users to use two-factor authentication.
"Ζητάμε ειλικρινά συγγνώμη για την αναστάτωση και την απογοήτευση που μπορεί να προκαλέσει το θέμα," δήλωσε η Citrix.
The company has not been able to confirm the number of passwords that it believes are stolen or what other information hackers may have received, and according to the announcement it is still investigating the hack.
The hack on the GoToMyPC service came after the attack on TeamViewer, which offers a similar product.
TeamViewer had said that its systems were not violated while there were reports from users complaining that their PCs had been attacked. So they discovered that various purchases had taken place through their PCs, from designer clothes to gift cards.
