The hacktivist team NullCrew, has targeted another major telecommunications company, Comcast. The group claims to have breached the company's systems after exploiting a mail server local file inclusion (LFI) vulnerability.
"Hello internet people, once again. We here at NullCrew have some fun information for you. This time, our target is Comcast, another Internet service provider that claims to be secure? "We have to prove their claims," they said hackers.
Hackers claim to have a list of Comcast mail servers running Zimbra, an e-mail server. On these servers the NullCrew team managed to identify vulnerabilities at LFI.
By exploiting the LFI vulnerability, which can generally be exploited to provide information and arbitrary code execution, hackers seem to have gained access to user names, passwords and other information.
Comcast has not confirmed the attack.
