The Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate filed a case file against two nationals in the context of targeted surveys to combat child pornography and the "Dark Internet". These are two locals, 33 and 35 years old, who maintained account on a "Dark Web" website ( darknet ), with material sexual abuse of minors
The targeted actions were carried out in cooperation with Europol and FBI
Από τη Διεύθυνση Δίωξης Ηλεκτρονικού Εγκλήματος της Ελληνικής Αστυνομίας, διεξήχθησαν στοχευμένες δράσεις για την καταπολέμηση της παιδικής πορνογραφίας και στο «Σκοτεινό Διαδίκτυο» ("Darknet") και σχηματίστηκε δικογραφία τακτικής διαδικασίας σε βάρος δυο ημεδαπών, 33 και 35 ετών, οι οποίοι κατηγορούνται για εμπλοκή σε υπόθεση πορνογραφίας ανηλίκων.
In particular, this case has been investigated following an operation carried out in collaboration with Europol and the FBI, the "The Onion Router" (Tor) "anonymous network" where websites with child sexual abuse material were identified. The in-depth analysis of the data also resulted in the involvement of domestic internet users who kept an account on one of the websites in question.
In the context of the investigation of the case by the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with the US FBI and the US-based online service provider, the electronic traces of the email account with which it had been registration on this website.
The competent prosecuting authorities were informed of the above and a relevant order and will was issued to lift the secrecy of the communications. This was followed by a methodical police and digital investigation by the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate in collaboration with the relevant internet and telecommunications service providers and the two nationals were identified as administrators of the email account in question.
25-11-2014 carried out a regular police investigation, in the presence of a Judicial Officer, in the homes and workplaces of the two nationals in Patras, where the on-site digital investigations verified the account management and identified other digital details of the case.
As part of the investigations, one (1) internal hard drive was found and seized disc Computer, which will be sent to the Directorate of Criminological Investigations for the necessary laboratory tests.
A case file of a regular procedure was submitted to the competent Prosecutor's Office.
