VirusTotal, the online virus detection engine owned by Google, today announced the addition of a new technology sandbox for Android called Droidy.
The new feature, το οποίο υπάρχει ήδη στο site, προσφέρει ένα προσομοιωμένο περιβάλλον του λειτουργικού συστήματος Android που προορίζεται για την analysis της συμπεριφοράς εφαρμογών Android για users and security researchers.
The behavioral analyzes included in each report will help security researchers confirm malicious applications.
VirusTotal reports that Droidy is an improvement to the original sandbox for Android, which was first developed by 2013, one year after Google purchased the service.
The new Sandbox Droidy will be able to provide additional information about malware activities in:
Communication networks and activities related to SMS
Java reflection calls
File System Interactions
Using the SQLite database
When they start and when services stop
Rights
Registered receivers
Crypto activities
To use the Droidy sandbox, you'll need to look for it in its Behavior tab σελίδαs VirusTotal and select it from a drop-down list in the menu. Currently, there are three options available for malware analysis in an Android environment: VirusTotal Sandbox, VirusTotal Droidy, and Tencent HABO.
