Ο Edward Snowden may not have been chosen as a Face of the Year by Time, but entered the list of World Researchers (Global Thinkers) of 2013 that the magazine wrote Foreign Policy.
The informant managed to send a formal statement, as he could not attend the reception in Washington on Wednesday.
"I am honored that you invited me to speak to you tonight. I apologize for my inability to appear in person, but I have passport issues. Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras are also, unfortunately, unable to accept the acccalls their. As it turns out, revealing some issues of reasonable concern in our day automatically puts us on another list as well except than that of the World's thinkers," Edward Snowden said humorously.
Edward thanked the Foreign Policy magazine, as many others have helped reveal the truth.
Snowden continues to live in Russia, where he has been offered temporary asylum.
The joke he made about his passport relates to the fact that the United States has canceled his passport, leaving him effectively locked in the transit zone of Sheremetyevo Airport in Russia, where he spent several weeks.
