The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) just finished a research για ένα νέο Οργουελικό πρόγραμμα του FBI. Το πρόγραμμα του FBI σε συνεργασία με ερευνητές της κυβέρνησης αποσκοπεί στη δημιουργία ενός προηγμένου λογισμικού αναγνώρισης εικόνων με πρόθεση της καταγραφής των τατουάζ μας σε μια προσπάθεια να προσδιοριστεί που ανήκουν: “συμμορίες, υπο-κουλτούρες, θρησκείες ή τελετουργικά, ή πολιτικής ιδεολογίας.”
The project began in 2014 as an initiative of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and attempts to map “connections among people with similar themetattoos or draw conclusions about people from their tattoos.”
Besides, of course, on various issues of freedom of speech, there may be significant moral concerns about the ambitious FBI project.
But with the EFF and NIST documents the researchers could not find out if the tattoos were used for additional experiments with prisoners and arrested.
Still, they continue to watch very closely the FBI project, which does not seem to want to suspend the program.
