Flesky, an extremely popular one application στο iPhone που επιτρέπει στους χρήστες να πληκτρολογούν σωστά στα τυφλά -αλλά και σε τυφλούς-, μεταφέρθηκε και στην πλατφόρμα του Android. Η σημαντικότερη εξέλιξη που μας επιφύλαξαν οι δημιουργοί του, τρεις Έλληνες που συναντήθηκαν στα ξένα, ήταν η support of the Greek language. The ability to type Greek with the blind system in displays touch screen for Android devices is in beta and the Syntellia team invites us to participate in the tests with constructive feedback!
As one of Fleksy's creators has brought us, Ioannis Vervelis, the logic behind "Fl" is that each word has a pattern formed by the movements we make when we try to write it on a keyboard with the predominant QWERTY layout. Deciphering what we were trying to write on the touch screen, as our thick fingers, small screen, haste or unexpected walking down the street led to mistakes, Fleksy consults the index by searching for words in the language with the same pattern. This method works very well, judging by the acceptance of the app on iOS devices.
By installing Fleksy 1.2.3 from Google Play, and following a brief and informative tutorial, we began to try typing blindly in Greek with the comfortable, much larger, Fleksy keyboard. We write SMS, Facebook posts, tweets and emails in Gmail much faster, not just because the keyboard has grown. Errors and suggested words that are automatically entered are rarely incorrect, and corrections require only a swipe to the left to try again. But it seems that Fleksy, albeit in beta, is doing well with the Greek language, and we have already passed on our first observations to the creators.
