Windows 8 exceeded 200 licenses

More than 200 million licenses have been sold to date, about a year and a half since the official release of the operating system.

Windows 8 sales news comes from Tami Reller, Microsoft's VP Marketing, which revealed sales figures in a recent speech.

It's no secret, Windows 8 does not sell as much as Microsoft would like. Although 200-based licenses are undoubtedly a great number if we compare them to the OS X and Linux numbers, however, the number is "smaller" compared to Windows 7 which has been much more successful than the acceptance of the world by 2009 to date.

200 million sales in the 16 months that Windows has been on the market means that Microsoft sells 12.5 million licenses every month. The percentage has decreased significantly since the last one for Windows 8 sales in May 2013 that exceeded 100 million with an average of 16.6 million sales per month.

Comparing sales with Windows 7, the previous version of Windows recorded stable sales figures from the very first moment of their release with about 20 sales per month and even more than 240 sales a year.

Στο νούμερο δε συμπεριλαμβάνονται οι πωλήσεις volume license σε and organizations that make up a significant share of Microsoft's sales.
