Flixxo: Popcorn Time's creator competes with YouTube

Flixxo: Popcorn Time creator Federico Abad is part of a new team preparing a YouTube competitor. The new platform is reportedly a collaboration of BitTorrent and .

In less than two weeks, Flixxo will hit the market, with a highly revolutionary platform that will reward users for creating, producing and distributing content using BitTorrent….Flixxo

Without a doubt, YouTube is one of the most important video services available on the internet today.

The huge video data brings pleasure to millions of users every day. Of course Google is behind the platform.

Over the years, many have tried to copy the idea of YouTube without being able to shake the Google behemoth. The last one that aspires to shake up the stagnant waters a bit has a very interesting player.

Until 2015, few knew that Argentinian programmer Federico Abad was actually "Sebastian," the notorious Popcorn Time content sharing platform.

He is now a member of the team behind Flixxo, a BitTorrent and blockchain platform that began hoping to claim a share of the YouTube video market.

The Flixxo network will not have the standard central data storage, eliminating the need for costly server hosting along with the associated costs. Instead, peers will be transferred using the BitTorrent protocol, which means that video content will be stored on Flixxo users' computers.

In practice, the content will go up and down in the same way that users do in The Pirate Bay or Abad, Popcorn Time.

However, there is a change in this system, which will allow content creators and seeders to monetize the system.

At the heart of the Flixxo system there will be digital chips (think like a virtual currency), called Flixx. These Flixx coins can be used to get users access to the content. Content creators will also be able to choose to pay for consumers when these people help distribute content to others.

"Without structural costs, producers can share the profits from their content with the network that supports them," the team behind Flixxo told Torrentfreak.

In addition to earning by helping to distribute content, those involved in the Flixxo system will also be able to earn by watching advertised content, i.e. Ads. While in a traditional system the are often considered annoying, Flixx coins will probably endear them especially since the audience will be paid to watch them!!!!

The Flixxo team has great designs. After its foundation at the beginning of 2016, the second quarter of 2017 completed a functional Alpha version. Less than two weeks later, the project will launch an event for its release, while preparing offices in Los Angeles to be completed in the first half of 2018.

"A total of 1.000.000.000 (one billion) Flixx chips will be issued, and 300.000.000 (three hundred million) chips will be sold. "Some of these brands (which will not exceed 33% or 100.000.000 Flixx) will be able to sell with a forecast to strategic investors," says Flixxo.

"Flixxo will educate its community, and teach its users that in this new age of online value, an internet without intermediaries can become a reality, a value that can be gained through participation, rewarding any social interaction," he explains. the team.
