Samsung is expected to present the new Galaxy Note 8 phablet on August 26 at a special event it will hold in New York, according to a Naver post.
Many were expecting the event to take place at IFA in Berlin which will start in early September. Apparently the company has changed plans and will introduce the new Note model even sooner, according to South Korea's Naver.
The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have a design similar to that of the S8 and S8 + models, although the most substantial change will be the addition of the S Pen plus and a dual camera configuration reminiscent of the iPhone 7 Plus.
The biggest problem for Samsung, however, is the location of the fingerprint reader, mainly because the company is trying to incorporate it below the screen, which does not seem to have managed until S8's release.
The company in South Korea reportedly has not completed work on adding the fingerprint reader, so it decided to postpone its release. So with Galaxy S9, it's very likely we'll see this feature.
As for Note 8, the device will have a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. But compared to S8, the Note 8 sensor will be placed in the middle of the phone to make it easier to use and not next to the camera, as is the case with today's flagships.
