Samsung is expected to present the new Galaxy Note 8 phablet on August 26 at a special event to be held in New York, according to a Naver publication.
Many were expecting the event to be held at the IFA in Berlin, which will start in early September. As the company seems to have changed plans and will present the new Note model even sooner, according to Naver from South Korea.
Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have a design similar to S8 and S8 +, although the most significant change will be the addition of S Pen plus and a dual camera configuration reminiscent of the iPhone 7 Plus.
The biggest problem for Samsung, however, is the location of the fingerprint reader, mainly because the company is trying to integrate it under the screen, which doesn't seem to have made it to the S8 launch.
The South Korean company reportedly did not complete the work on adding the fingerprint reader, so it decided to postpone its release. So with the Galaxy S9 it is very likely that we will see this feature.
As for Note 8, the device will have a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. But compared to S8, the Note 8 sensor will be placed in the middle of the phone to make it easier to use and not next to the camera, as is the case with today's flagships.
