The combination of Google Glass with a set of special "bracelets" it can create a virtual keyboard, which will be visible only to its user. At least this is what researchers at Mälardalen University claim Sweden.
The set of "bracelets" is worn on the wrists or on the palms (depending on the final design to be preferred) and incorporates sensors that are able to pinpoint the exact position of the fingertips and the movements of the user's hands.
They will also be able to calculate the distance of the user's hands from the nearest flat surface, such as a desk, table or even a book. The data will be transmitted wirelessly through a device such as Google Glass, which will project the keyboard into the user's field of vision. As the user "types" on the surface, the virtual keyboard keys will respond accordingly.
At the same time, the bracelets will allow you to control a virtual mouse and control through gestures. According to Gizmag, this technology could be used in other applications other than typing, such as video games or music.
The goal of the research group is to create a system that can be easily transported and can be used in the minimum available space, thus solving some of the problems using physical keyboards.
