Google Play announced the “Change the Game Design Challenge” (Αλλάξτε τον σχεδιασμό των παιχνιδιών) ο οποίος απευθύνεται σε schoolchildren που θα υποβάλλουν ιδέες για πρωτότυπα gamea for mobiles.
Aude Gandon, Google Play CEO, said in a post: "From today, we accept applications for the 2020 Change the Game Design Challenge. And with schools closed due to the pandemic many students are spending more time at home, so let's dust off.”
Students between the ages of 13 and 18 can apply, and at the same time along with the application they can submit their idea for an original mobile game.
The registrations will be open from May 11 to July 31 and then Google Play will hold online workshops from June that will last until the end of the summer. If selected for the workshop, participants are grouped with other players for a four-session program, which aims to develop games hosted by Girls Make Games.
In these sessions, participants will learn to design, bring to life and publish their game, along with experts in the field. Upon completion, participants will retain an original game software and receive all course material, a completion certificate, and a new Chromebook to continue their game development ambitions.
The program is designed for those who are passionate about their job and ready to use their imagination to make a difference, Gandon said. No previous game development experience required.
"If you've ever wondered what it takes to make your own game, just tell us your idea. "If you want to play it, then we want to hear it," Gandon added.
