In more detail, the perpetrators, for a fee, cause damage to websites and online sales stores of (e-shops), gaining access to third party credit card codes and online payment details, with the aim of illegal financial gain.

It is noted that the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate was investigating a case involving an online attack against a pharmacy's online store (e-shop), which lasted over a year, resulting in the , a total loss of 350.000 euros.

The online attacks were a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) type that was particularly intense, as occasionally "ghost" computers were used that caused 70.000.000 visits daily at the above e-shop, making it no longer functional.

In the framework of the preliminary examination, thorough and thorough police and internet research was conducted to investigate and elucidate the above cases. From the digital research carried out and after correlation and analysis of the internet attacks on their mode of operation (modus operandi), it emerged that the offender was 45.

In searches carried out at his father's house and at the 45-year-old's house, they were found and confiscated (2) hard drives and portable storage medium (usb stick). From the on-site investigation of the computers it was found that the hard drives had recently been erased-formatted.

Seized digital finds and storage media will be sent to the Criminal Investigation Division for appropriate laboratory tests.

The analysis of the online traces of online attacks continues, in collaboration with the involved countries, to identify and identify more individuals acting online at the expense of online businesses by "executing" contracts from competing companies for the purpose of the illegal asset benefit by the digital vandals they were operating.

The case file will be submitted to the competent Prosecutor's Office.
