Two cases of "piracy" of subscription satellite services in areas of Heraklion, Crete, have been identified by the Office of the Economic Police and Electronic Crime Enforcement.

For these cases, ordinary case files were filed against two nationals, ages 41 and 46, who were accused of violating intellectual property law and protecting subscription services.

More specifically, the investigation of the cases began after lawsuits, in the Financial Police & Cybercrime Prosecution Service, by attorneys of public limited companies providing services in electronic media. The lawsuits concerned a satellite "piracy" of the services provided by the specific companies, through illegal distribution of their television signal, to a large number of "subscribers".

In particular, in the first case it was denounced that 41 had provided through its store in Heraklion, Crete, the ability to watch subscriber channels on a large number of users without paying a subscription to the provider.

In conducted at his store, one (1) internal computer hard drive was found and seized, which will be sent to forensic laboratories for the necessary laboratory tests.

In the second case, according to the complaint, unknown internet users working as a group and using servers and illegally modified decoders illegally shared encryption-decryption-decrypting electronic keys to internet users.

From the digital survey conducted in the context of the execution of a relevant Talk to remove communications secrecy, it was found that one of the owners of the electronic traces is 46-old national.
